Dr. Isabelle Chase is a Pediatric Dentist who is the Director of the Pediatric Dental Residency Program at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Boston Children's Hospital. She also serves as a Senior Associate, Department of Dentistry Assistant Professor, Developmental Biology, Harvard School of Dental Medicine.


TITLE: Pediatric Dental Trauma: Management of Primary and Immature Permanent Teeth

Dr. David Avenetti Dr. Avenetti is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry. He previously served as Residency Program Director and provides direct patient care in both the faculty practice and extramural private practice. He is also an attending clinician at UIC and the University of Illinois Hospital. Dr. Avenetti earned his DDS from UCLA, where he was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon. He completed his MSD and Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Washington, in affiliation with Seattle Children's Hospital, and concurrently earned an MPH in Health Services from the University of Washington School of Public Health. He is board-certified and has spent his career in academic practice. His research and grant efforts are currently supported by the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR), the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), and institutional funding. His active projects focus on oral health promotion, reducing disparities, leadership and professional development in pediatric dentistry, and outcomes of general anesthesia for oral rehabilitation.

Dr. Catherine Flaitz: Dr. Catherine Flaitz is clinical professor and chair, Division of Diagnostic Sciences, University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine and adjunct faculty, Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Children’s Hospital Colorado and Denver Health, Pediatric Dental Residency Program. In addition, she is the dental school liaison for the Center for Bioethics and Humanities, CU Anschutz Medical Campus. Dr. Flaitz earned her dental degree from Creighton University and received specialty certification in both pediatric dentistry and oral and maxillofacial pathology from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. She participates on several editorial boards including section editor for Pediatric Dentistry. Presently, she is the immediate past president, American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology, the vice president, American Academy of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology, consultant, Council of Clinical Affairs, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and founding member, National Collaborative on Humanities & Ethics in Dentistry. She has been a recipient of multiple teaching and research awards, including the 2023 Honorary Fellowship from the American Academy of Oral Medicine and the 2023 Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award from the School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Flaitz is a prolific author including 2 color atlases on oral diseases. She enthusiastically shares her clinical and research experiences and passion for teaching in a practical way.
